Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam
Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam is a luxury hotel located in the centre of Amsterdam. Its building has a rich history dating back to the fifteenth century, having been in use as convent, hotel for Hollands royalty, Admirality of Amsterdam and City hall. From 1578 the building was frequently visited by legendary persons like the French Queen Maria de' Medici, Princess Royal Maria Stuart of England and William of Orange, ancestor of the present Dutch Royal family.
This rich history has been the starting point for the wall paintings and artwork Dries van Wagenberg designed and created for the suites of the hotel. Stylized portraits of famous guest adorn the walls of the rooms, and remember the guests what a truly legendary surroundings they are staying in. Designed in a modern style, the artworks bring the history to it's guests in a manor that reflects the elegant interior and luxurious facilities of the 5 star hotel.
