Tinted Timber
Tinted timber is a study looking into the chemical properties of different kinds of wood. Dries van Wagenberg discovered that by dipping wood into a bath of acid, a chemical reaction is activated which results into a change in the color of the material. This color change differences per wood sort, as the composition of the different kinds of trees have different elements, such as resin, that react to the chemical liquid.
The result of the process is a series of products, which show the subtle differences of their materials in fascinating shades of colors where the wood has been in contact with the alien liquid.
